Scraps.

I have a bowl on my desk where I put all bits and pieces that are left over from bigger projects, and also stuff I get as extras with swaps. This little fella was there, too :)

Good housekeeper vs. bad housekeeper.

Decide for yourselves, which is better, to be a good housekeeper with a bit of spark or a bad housekeeper with a very glittery life (and head, had a bit of an accident with the glitter pot...). Or is it really the other way around?

Buried in Papers.

For the past two days I've been buried in papers. Unfortunately not the pretty patterned kind, but in articles and books that I need to read to finalise my Master's thesis. Something I decided a very long time ago not to do, but of course had to change my mind a couple of times... I have set myself a goal for today and once I've reached it, I will take out a box of crafting goodies and do something fun!

I received a huge box of goodies from my dear friend Anja. It was called a package of joy and it's meant for sharing -- I get to pick out those goodies I like and add good stuff that I don't use from my stash. My favourite kind of recycling!

One day I will learn to take good photos of my work with a real digital camera, but until that you get this:

Cards with no soul.

I have been superbusy with work etc. and left a swap commitment to the last minute, resulting in cards that have no soul and make me rather unhappy. Lesson learnt, inspiration doesn't come automatically :(

All sorts of stuff!

First, congrats to DD for getting her math diploma! The kids in her class are practicing equations that result in 10-20, they have a five-minute test where you do 60 equations and when you nail them, you get your diploma. DD got hers on Valentine's Day, making it even sweeter!

Second, a 12 x 12 layout, titled Similar-Different. It's DD and her cousin, who are similar in so many ways, yet completely different.




And finally, thanks to my secret ATC-friend. This week we got supplies to make three ATCs that we then send back to the secret friend, once her identity has been revealed! Sooo much stuff, it's gonna be tough for me to use them all, because I have such simple style!

Layout from Sat Crop!

Here's one of the 12 x 12 layouts I finished on Saturday -- and it's a two-pager, which is something I rarely do! Sorry for bad bad photos!

The title is "the best toys, the best laughs" and it tells about my DD's obsession to hold on to her toys, which she rarely plays with. However, she loves cardboard boxes, cardstock and tape :)

Preparing for a crop!

I'm so happy, we are having a crop on Saturday! I have a pile of photos and now I'm trying to decide what size I want to work on -- I think I should go for 12 x 12 because I do so little of it! I love 6 x6 and 8 x 8 and since my style is so minimalistic they are just easier canvases for me to use. But a girl needs a little challenge, right??

So look out for new work on Saturday evening!

Second challenge here. As the topic was to deal with something, anything, that you have been putting off, the journalling got very personal. Too personal to share in detail. But it's about a fear I want to leave behind and move on with my life.

The two ATCs I made last night: Days don't really have names (left) and Serious problems (right). Had a good laugh when realised that the map-patterned paper had the place Hatfield (Herts.) on it. Had some good times there back in 1988 (and some bad ones too).

My challenge.

So this is my personal challenge, but anyone is welcome to join me! I have a box full of stuff, you know, the odds and ends, pieces of paper, old mags, stickers, stuff that I've never bothered to sort out. The box is kind big, too. So I will try to make two cards out of the stuff every night as I watch tv. Here is what I made last night. I did take out an ink pad from another box :)

Weekly challenge.

There are tons of challenges going on for scrappers, journallers, card makers, anyone. I'm doing this one because it's a weekly one, and it sounds like a lot of fun.

Below is my list of five things I want to do this week for me :) Enjoy coffee or tea with someone, go and see a movie with DD, write a letter and wait for a reply, use the new exercise bike and play with the cat, or at least take a nap with it.

Quick update.

We are heading home tomorrow. DD has been very happy playing with her cousins and to make things even better, she's been downhills skiing, three times. I was teasing her about becoming a ski bum and because she didn't know what it meant I told her to google it :)

While it has been fun and good, it's great to go back home. I miss my stuff :) I don't think I could ever live out of a suitcase (unless I had to).

It's raining but DD and I started to work on Xmas cards. I bought supercute inchies from Tuscan Rose and I thought I'd do something simple with them. Well heat embossing and messing around with wire ain't simple for me....

DD broke her collarbone today as she fell down from a high slide to the icy ground. She could have easily broken a lot more than a collarbone, so whoever was watching over her, thanks :) She's sore and tired, but insists on going to school tomorrow.

Oh man, what a great day; meeting a bunch of scrappers, getting to see them work, see cools tools and papers and stuff, tons of inspiraton! And I finished 9 layouts (some need texts to be added) so I'm one happy scrapper!

Preparing for a crop!

Oh my goodness, we are having a crop tomorrow! I'm just shuffling thought photos, I have an ambitious target of 12 layouts (mind you, I am doing a lot of 6 x 6 pages these says) and a couple of cards for swaps.... but most of all, I'm gonna hang out with a bunch of scrappers!

Out of town for a few days.

I'm going to visit friends and relatives for a few days. Be back on Sunday, hopefully with a bunch of treasures to share (gonna raid my sister's stash of photos).

My DD loves decorating cupcakes and what better theme than Halloween. Very scary, and tasty!

On a Rainy Day.

On such a rainy and grey day, one can only wish for a summer holiday in the coutryside.

I can't believe I didn't take a photo of...

my DD's brand new pair of skates when they were in the oven for five minutes. Yes, in the oven. The things you do to help your kids... Oh, and the reason was that when you gently heat the shoe for five minutes, it moulds to your foot easier. Maybe I should stick the skates into a cold oven and snap a photo??

Uninspired.

Nothing seems to get done here. Oh well... At least I got some swaps finished! The top row is for a "time"-themed one, the next one is for "my favourite colour" and the last one is "kids".

Reorganising. Again.

My supplies have taken over our bedroom. DH built new desks and shelves in a room downstairs and has kindly (but firmly) requested I move my stuff there. Gladly!
