Documenting the little but important things of life, the menu at DD's 8th Bday party. We agreed on a no candy policy and it worked out ok, no-one was hugely dissappointed and carrot sticks and sunflower seeds got more good attention than bad. Cupcakes and ice cream were the biggest hit, of course! // Tytön 8-v synttärimenu, tärkeä pieni elämän asia, varsinkin radikaalin ei-karkkia-päätöksen myötä. Nyt se on todistettu, synttärit voi pitää ilman karkkia ja sokerihumalaa, ja porkkanatikut ja auringonkukan siemet on suht' viihdyttäviä, vaikka muffinssit ja jätski veivätkin voiton.

DD likes ANTM -- a lot. Her poses have winner quality, but end up in giggles most of the time. Bad scan, and the chipboard didn't help. // Amerikan huippumallien jalanjäljissä... Huono skannaus.

After the initial shock, the older cat has taken to the little one. So they are getting to a relationship where they can dance around a little and then have a good solid sleep. (I should really start making the beds in the morning....) // Ensijärkytys lie ohi kissojemme yhteiselossa. Välillä mennä hurutetaan ympyrää ja sitten pötkähdetään nukkumaan. (pitäis kai opetalla petaamaan sänky aamulla...). Ja kyllä, tämäkin syntyi Tampereella.

If you have ever thrown a b-day party for a kid, you know what the last 15 minutes can be like...total panic, crying, screaming, tantrums.... last year we avoided all that by cleverly starting a mellow activity, which all the girls ( minus one) liked -- drawing. //Lastenjuhlien 15 viimeistä minuuttia on potentiaalista katastrofiaikaa, mutta viime vuonna tytöt innostuivat piirtämään. Onneksi! Tämäkin sivu on muuten Tampereen tuotantoa :)

More from the crop, another 6 x6 on the jar of pink slimy stuff that kept DD entertained for hours on Xmas. The cheapest of the pressies and definately the best value! Note two things about this lo; I used pp and in pink!! // Toinen Tampereen tuotos, myöskin 6 x 6. Ehdottoman kummallinen sivu, koska taustana on pinkki kuviopaperi. Ilmeisesti tässä kohtaa päivää olin hulvattomalla tuulella :)

Here's the first layout (6 x6) I did during the Tampere-crop. My supersimple style is perfect for crops, it seems, I don't need to haul a lot of stuff with me and I get things done. Or maybe it was a lucky fluke? / Tässä eka Tampereen tuotos (6 x6) . Yltiöyksinkertaisuus sopii reissussa skräppäämiseen, ei tartte kantaa paljoa tavaraa ja sivut syntyy nopsaan, jos ovat syntyäkseen. Tai sitten oli vaan hyvä päivä!

Oh my goodness, I've never seen so much paper, embellishments and tools in one room (or two) as I did in the crop in Tampere! Brillant people, great pages, good laughs, totally relaxed! // Aivan uskomaton viikonloppu! Paperia, koristeita, työkaluja, uusia tuttuja, tuttuja blogimaailmasta ja vanhoja tuttuja, sopiva sekoitus kertakaikkiaan! Kiitos kaikille ketä tapasin, ja niille jotka jäivät vielä moikkaamatta, niin tavataan toisen kerran :) En jaksa vielä purkaa laukkua, joten sivujen postaaminen alkaa huomenna!

DD is into figureskating, very much so, and has practice five times a week. This means a lot of snacks packed in the morning because there is no time to stop by at home and eat after school. So I'm going to a major crop. Across the country. Travelling by train, so I cannot bring everything (I would need the whole train to haul everything with me...). The challenge: list everything in your handbag. I don't do handbags so my beloved backbag, which has come to the end of its road, was emptied and photographed and all its contents listed. A lot of stuff!! / Inspiroidu-haasteena käsilaukun sisältö. En käytä käsväskyjä, joten kuvassa reppuni, joka sanoi irti yhteistyömme 9 vuoden jälkeen, vetoketju hajosi lopullisesti eilen.

I don't do New Year's resolutions, I always fail and it just adds to the stress. Instead I've chosen a word for 2009, following Ali Edwards and others. Mine is "pause". // Ei uuden vuoden lupauksia, koska ne eivät koskaan pidä. Kuitenkin valitsin vuoden sanan, kuten Ali Edwards ja monet muut, omani on "pause", jonka myötä koitan pysähtyä useammin tärkeiden asioiden ja hetkien pariin.

Meet our newest family member, a little cat we adopted from the local animal shelter. She's badly malnourished and beaten, but despite her sad background is a happy camper, who enjoys cuddles and treats. Our older cat, aged 9, is about three times her size and has accepted her into "his"house, including his bowl, but excluding his litter box! // Muru-kissa tuli meille aatonaattona. Tämä pikkuinen löytökissa on kärsinyt nälkää ja sitä on piesty, mutta on kuitenkin luottavainen ja hellyydenkipeä. 9-vuotias kollimme on ottanut pikkuisen vastaan hieman epäluuloisesti, mutta päästää jo ruokakupilleen jämille, hiekkalaatikostaan ajoi pois.

I'm making a 6 x 6 album for a friend, I've collected the cs and pp and decided on a supersimple layout, all pages will have some pp at the bottom of the page and there will be some small embelllishments added, but not too much. // Teen pienen lahja-albumin ystävälle, kartongit ja paperit on valittu, ja lisäksi tulee vain pieniä koristuksia. I've been tagged!

Raisa tagged me to reveal seven facts about myself, and I will, but as most of the people I know have been tagged already, I will not forward this :)

1. I'm disorganised. Very disorganised. Amazingly enough I've rarely lost anything important. DH may disagree. (No I did not loose him, silly!)

2. I like doing laundry, but never iron. Well maybe once a year. My sister, on the other hand, irons everything, incl. towels, so I figure that results in a balance.

3. I work in communications.

4. My friends tend to be younger than me, so either they are really mature or I'm just terribly immature. (Anyone want to comment here??)

5. I laugh out loud when I fall asleep, DH confirms and thinks it's weird.

6. I have 4 pairs of jeans that are so worn out that they cannot be worn in public but I cannot let go of them.

7. I like to hang out at the ice hall when DD has her figureskating practise and have a cup of coffee everytime I go there. And complain about it. It's bad, really bad coffee.
